Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account details. Your email address and an encrypted password, or the details returned by your chosen sign-in provider.
• Creative inputs. The prompts you type or speak, the style, color, size, material and framing options you pick, and any photo or portrait you upload as a reference.
• Generated artwork. Every version of each painting you create, so you can revise without losing earlier work.
• Order details. Shipping name and address, order contents, and the fulfilment status of anything you send to print.
• Technical data. IP address, browser type, and basic request logs used to keep the service secure and working.

Voice input

When you use the microphone, speech is captured only while you are actively recording and is converted to text so it can be used as a painting prompt. We keep the resulting text with your painting history; we do not build voice profiles or use recordings for anything other than producing that prompt.

Photos you upload

Uploaded photos are used solely to generate the painting you asked for. They are stored in your own private folder, are not published anywhere, and are not used to train AI models. Only upload photos you have the right to use — please don't upload images of other people without their permission.

How we use information

• Generate, restyle, and re-render your paintings as you refine them
• Save every step so you can go back without losing work
• Show you accurate pricing for materials, framing, and shipping
• Take payment and send approved artwork to our print partner
• Keep you updated on production and delivery
• Detect abuse and keep the platform secure

We never share your uploaded photos, prompts, or generated artwork with advertisers, and we never make your creations public without you choosing to share them. Separately, we may share or sell certain other personal information for advertising — see the section below.

Selling and sharing data for advertising

We may share, and in some cases sell, certain personal information to advertising and analytics partners so that they can show you and others more relevant, interest-based advertising, and so we can measure how well our own advertising works. Under some privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act — this activity counts as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, so we disclose it plainly here.

Categories that may be sold or shared:

• Identifiers such as your email address and advertising or device identifiers
• Approximate location derived from your IP address
• Commercial information such as the products you looked at, materials and sizes you selected, and whether you completed an order
• Internet activity such as pages viewed, referring links, and device or browser type
• Inferences about your interests drawn from the above

We never sell or share for advertising:

• Photos or portraits you upload
• The prompts you type or speak, or the paintings you generate
• Payment card details (these stay with Stripe)
• Your shipping address, other than with our print partner to deliver your order
• Any information belonging to a person we know to be under 16

Your choice. You can opt out at any time — tick the "Do not sell or share my personal information for advertising" box when you create your account or when we ask you to review an updated policy, or ask us through the contact form. Opting out never changes the price you pay or the features you can use, and we will honour a recognised opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control where our browser receives one.

Accepting this policy

You accept this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service by ticking the acknowledgement box when you create an account. If we make a material change to either document, we will ask you to review and acknowledge the new version the next time you sign in, and we record which version you agreed to and when.

Service providers we rely on

Each provider is bound to use your data only to deliver its part of the service. We instruct model providers not to use your prompts, photos, or artwork for training.

Retention

Paintings and their version history stay in your gallery until you delete them or close your account. Order records are kept for as long as tax and consumer-protection law requires. Work created before you sign in is held in your browser only, and is attached to your account if you register.

Your rights

• Access a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correct anything inaccurate
• Delete individual paintings, uploads, or your whole account
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising
• Withdraw consent you previously gave, without being treated differently for it
• Export your generated artwork

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access to painting files and orders is scoped to the account that owns them, and passwords are checked against known breach lists at sign-up.

Children

PAINT THAT is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
